About us
How We Got Started
As the founder of Innovative Vision Products, Sloan Morris is deeply committed to helping individuals with visual impairments lead fulfilling lives. His passion for this work stems from his own personal experience with vision loss and the challenges it can bring. Sloan has experienced challenges since the age of 9 when he was diagnosed with a juvenile form of macular degeneration. He understands how difficult it can be to adapt to a new way of life and learn to navigate the world without full sight.
This is why he founded Innovative Vision Products, to provide a range of products that can help people with low vision and people who are blind overcome daily obstacles. He continues to live a fulfilling life using a variety of Assistive Technology Products at home and on the go.
Sloan spent 15 years in the paper and packaging industry before starting Innovative Vision Products in 2004. He has a BS from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Why contact Innovative Vision Products?
Having lived with a visual impairment from a young age and dealing with many of life’s challenges, Sloan grew a special empathy for the low vision and blind communities. Understanding what you face and what works and doesn’t work, he provides the benefit of his experience and studies in the field.
We do find that most people benefit considerably from their time with us. While it can take some dedicated time to explore all the new technology and try to learn how it can fit into your daily life, teaching people all about this is what we do, and we love to do it. We can make it an exciting experience and easy to understand for you and your family in a few hours at most. Eventually, it will be like brushing your teeth: the habits will be so ingrained that you’ll wonder why you ever thought much about it all!
Through our innovative technologies and personalized service, we strive to empower individuals with low vision and people who are blind to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. Our Mission
We work to restore the dignity of the visually impaired in Illinois, so that they can become as self-sufficient as possible. Visual impairment is something that can happen at any time to you or someone you love – whether that is a parent, husband, wife, sister, brother, or even a child. Because this could happen to any one of us, our mission is to make the challenges associated with sight loss much easier to handle as well as improve the quality of life for those impacted and for those who care for them.
